Ramgarh
was one of the sovereign (“Khud-Mukhtyar”) Cis-Sutlej
states of The Punjab ruled by Chandel Rajputs, whose
lineage goes back to Ramayana and Mahabharata days.
Chandel Rajputs had their seat of power in Bundelkhand
(Madhya Pradesh) and they ruled over the entire
Central India in the medieval period before the
advent of Prithviraj Chauhan. World-famous Khajuraho
temples were built by them. Well-known warriors
Aalah-Udal, whose exploits are still remembered
through folk songs, were Chandels.
Nearly
1,300 years ago, the Ramgarh family’s ancestors
migrated from there to Punjab and established the
state of Kot Kahloor. The capital was later shifted
to Bilaspur. One branch of the family of the Raja
of Bilaspur came to Ramgarh nearly 360 years ago
and laid the foundation of Ramgarh.
Re-Creating, with splendid
panache, the princely life style of Ramgarh (India).
Once there opulent abode, today is custom built
heritage Hotel
From every Fort echoes its historical past for miles.
Each has tale to narrate-of-love and passion, of
scandal and chivalry, of heroism, and battles. So

Rooms |
Lattice work and mirror mosaics adorn the interiors of the Fort. The living areas are synonymous with hospitality. All the rooms and suites have been exquisitely laid out for the connoisseurs' refined eye.
Many fine elements of the original designs have been preserved, including the Art-Deco style and mirror mosaics.
The luxurious deluxe rooms some of them carved out of nine-foot thick walls overlooking a cosy lawn and a typically Indian courtyard have intricate frescos hand painted on their ceilings.
The distinct d飯r and furniture of every room mocks at the dull uniformity of assembly-line interior design, so unfortunately familiar today. Yet, the Fort, managed by dedicated professionals, boasts of all modern amenities like attached bathrooms with hot and cold water, telephone and CCTV to make your stay comfortable. |
