Enjoy walking around the two main areas around Kasauli, the Upper and Lower Mall. The residents of Kasauli walk a lot, for Kasauli has always been a small hill resort attracting and meant for getting about on your own feet. You should enjoy a steep walk to the Upper Mall that will take you past an important landmark, the Kasauli Club.

Follow the Upper Mall to the major attraction of Monkey Point, which is the highest point in Kasauli. This point, in todays's time in under the governance of IAF. This is located 4 kms from the bus stand and commands excellent views of the valleys and distant plains of Chandigarh. On the top of the hill there is the a small temple, dedicated to Lord Hanuman. The walk to this Shri Baba Balak Temple is a little strenuous.

This is an important vantage point, that will give you a splendid view of the entire ravine. Just 6-km from Kasauli, Sanawar houses one of the best schools in the country. The Lawrence school is almost one hundred-years-old and forms a major highlight of the town.

More than inside, the attractions of Kasauli lies when you take an excursion of the nearby towns and villages. Across the forested hills and deep ravines is the sleepy town of Dagshal. Here you will find a lot of Military barracks and it is an important cantonment area located 1,925 m above sea level. On a clear day, you should catch the sparkle of the Sutlej river curving lazily along the plains in the far distance, while from here the view of the snow clad Dhauladhar Range and Choor Chandni Peak, in the north – east is worth watching.

You should see the fort in Sabathu, located 15 kms away, while another important town is Dharampur (19 kms), where these is situated, one of the best hospitals in India for the cure of tuberculosis. These towns are very well connected with Kasauli via National Highway 22.
