Chitvan Jungle Lodge, Kanha National Park, Chitvan is the most discreet of the Jungle and Safari Lodges in India. It blends into the surrounding landscape, while providing a stunning viewpoint for observing the area's wealth of Wildlife. Chitvan blends perfectly with the surrounding countryside. The surrounding hills are wooded, and the open grassland in front is interspersed with some Sal trees, whistling thorns, and some scrub. You will be captivated by this unspoiled corner of Kanha National Park, spread in about 14 acres of land..

A place for every purse, purpose and personality is what we thought when we designed Chitvan. Accommodation to house casual leisure traveler, a peace finder, a business tycoon, a head of state, you name it and we have it all.  Accommodation at Chitvan consists of 12 Luxurious and well appointed suites with large windows offering views of the adjoining forests, farms, and hills.

The theme here is inspired by the 5 elements in nature,
i.e. Agni (Fire), Prithvi (Earth), Jal (Water), Vayu (Wind), Akash (Ether), each having a surreal effect on the mind, body and soul.  There is a pattern of expression in nature which is, the Five Elements. As such, they were felt to be the prime energetic building blocks from which all material substance in the phenomenal world is composed.  Quintessential Chitvan, accommodation is in the Suites, designed with open facades so that guests in bed have uninterrupted view of the forest and farmland in front, sit outs with day beds, open showers, andprivate terraces for that quite candle lit dining experience as you listen to the sounds of the forest

Prithvi (Earth) Suites:  With a big Saja tree in the centre of the block, these Suites stand tall, and grand.  Each Suite is 900sq. ft. Some unique suite features are, spacious sitting area with sofa bed, work area with attached terrace overlooking Maikal hills.   The bed room with a king bed with lush linens, woollen / feather blankets and pillow-top mattress. Decor includes warm yellow and sage green tones, accenting amenities such as a telephone, bedside alarm clock, miniature refrigerator with soft drinks, and snacks, Tea/ coffee maker, and a separate dressing area with lot of space to keep your personal belongings in the almirah.  Spacious bath with rain shower heads in a glass cubicle and bath tub with shower, bath robe, slippers and all bathroom amenities from Forest Essentials, open shower in ground floor suites. Hair dryer and DVD player is available on demand.

Akash (Ether) Suites: Located next to the organic farms in Chitvan, these Suites are unique, as from here you have a captivating view of the Maikal Hills from the terrace of the Suites, and from the windows you view the dense Sal forest of Kanha.  Each suite has a separate living room, for you to read and write on the work table overlooking the fields, and the lush green sal forest.  With bay windows in the ground floor suites, and terraces on the first floor suites, these 4 Suites are spacious, to cater to every purpose, and personality.  These suites have been designed to cater to peace, and serenity.  With wall size windows in all bedrooms, you just need to open your eyes while still on the bed, to see the forest, you don’t even need to get up to enjoy the view.  Specially made large twin beds which are of 6.5 X 4 feet size, every part of these suites is grand.  Twin counters in the bathroom to save time for you in the morning when you are going for safaris, a rain shower head inside a shower cubicle.  For the more adventurous open showers in the ground floor suites, take a shower in the open sky, feel the nature in totality. Enjoy private dinners on the terrace, and see the stars looking at you. 

Jal (Water) Suites: This block shares the boundary with Kanha forest.

The Mahasagar Suite (1500 sq feet) is specially designed for the head of states, business czars, and people with a taste for Luxury.  A two bedroom suite, with a living room, and 6 private balconies to enjoy views of the forest, farms, lodge, and the Maikal hills.  You may like to have a private meal in the balcony next to the forest, or have breakfast on the terrace and enjoy the chirping of the birds, and the morning sun looking at you through the tall Sal trees.   Just next to the block is a small water body, which attracts some Wild and bird life.  Each suite has the usual comforts, and unique colours that suit the name.  Large glass windows for you to enjoy the views, and the curtains to give you privacy. 

 Every activity at Chitvan will ensure the above four focuses are implemented. Some of them to keep you busy are:-

1. Swimming Pool.
2. Spa to rejuvenate your body, mind, and soul.
3. Walk to the Banjaar river with our naturalist, the up-down walk is approx 3kms, and it is enriching as it is a walk on the fringes of the buffer zone of the reserve. This walk can initiate you into birding if you are keen. Kids are taught how to recognize the pug marks and footprints of different animals. Our naturalist will also demonstrate and teach children how to do pug mark casting.
4. Bullock cart ride to the nearby village is an eye opener about how people live in our villages. It is a revelation to the kids to see area where time stands still, which they have not so far seen in their city life.
5. Cycling trip to the Bandha tola water body, about 4kms cycling, see the country side, sweat it out, discover the singer in yourself, and just think when was it last that you whistled.
6. Visit the local school.
7. Visit the local village market.
8. Walk in our organic farms at Chitvan is a learning experience which you and your kids will remember for long.
9. See our dairy farm, watch milking of cows, and our Chef will teach you how we make our own butter, ghee, cottage cheese, butter milk, etc.
10. Tree Plantation, plant a sapling, we promise to keep it alive, will send you photographs of the same once every three months.
11. Help our gardeners and farmers, dirty your hands and feet, spend some time irrigating our plants and trees in our organic farms.
12. Indian Cooking Demonstration, interact with the Chef during every meal, learn some of the delicacies that he prepares for you, and see some live preparation daily.
13. Screeing of Wildlife movies in the evening.
14. Understand the process and utliity of Vermi-Composting.
15. If you are into reading, pick up a book from our library, sit anywhere in Chitvan and be to yourself, kids can pick up some comics, or the Manager will provide you some workbooks to keep kids busy.
    
16. Learn about medicinal usages of plants in our medicinal nursery.
    
17. Dance alongwith the tribals by the fire, and forget your corporate status.
