Kerala is one of the greenest stretches of land in the world situated in the South Western tip of India in Asia. Kerala can boast of bright and sunny weather and refreshing rain. Alappuzha (Alleppey) is the gateway to the famed backwaters of Kerala, one of the largest and most picturesque water lagoons in the world.

Alappuzha (Alleppey) is 1½ hours drive by road from Cochin Airport or 3 hours from Trivandrum International Airport. A 15 minute boat-cruise from Alappuzha (Alleppey) boat-jetty takes you to Keraleeyam. Keraleeyam is a Heritage Home and Ayurvedic Resort, located at a breathtakingly beautiful spot facing the backwaters. FOOD
Traditional Kerala cuisine of rice and spicy curries, are served on plantain leaves, `Puttu' (or steamed rice-cake with coconut gratings prepared in bamboo shell ) etc. are served in traditional style. Choice of selected of Continental and Chinese cuisine is also offered Keraleeyam serves traditional Kerala food in befitting  style. Dining is furnished in traditional ambience. Food served in Plantain leaves is an experience you can have nowhere else.Kerala rice and spicy curries offer a mouth watering delicacy.Vegetarian and non- vegetarian menu options are available. Limited choice of Chinese and Continental cuisine is also available. Fresh water fishes like "Karimeen" (Pearl spot), Tiger Prawn and Lobster add variety to the menu.Traditional breakfast of "Puttu" (steamed rice cake with grated coconut prepared in bamboo shells) Kadala and Pappadam offers a lingering taste

Snake Boat race : Snake boats, long sleek country boats paddled by a 100 oarsmen, glide over the backwaters in close, tight competition during snake boat races.
Onam : Festival of flowers, colour, fun and frolic. Onam is the best known festivity of Kerala attracting visitors world wide. During Onam the people, flora and fauna of Kerala join together in celebration. Unique art, dance and sport forms like Thiruvathira Kali (Women's group dance) Kaduvakali (Dances painted with tiger stripes) and  Snake Boat Race add gaiety to Onam.

'Palkanji' or Rice Porridge : Rice porridge known as `palkanji' is prepared by adding coconut milk with Malabar spices to cooked rice.This is served in golden bronze vessel with leaf spoon. Try this with your breakfast.
Aleppey Town : Alleppey town (now called Alappuzha)is built around canals. Town has a lots of  bridges and old buildings with typical Kerala architecture

Arrival at Keraleeyam by country boat : We pick up our guests from Alleppey Town in country boats or motor boat. Keraleeyam is accessible by  road also.
Nassium : Nassium is an Ayurvedic Treatment which involves nasal application of herbal oils. Nassium offers relief from severe headache, migraine, etc.
Food at Keraleeyam : Traditional  delicious foods served on plantain leafs. Limited choice of  chinese and continental food are also available.
Kerala utensils : Traditional cooking vessels are made of brass or bronze having long necks and round bottoms. Special Kerala delicasies like "Iddli" , "Puttu" , "Nool puttu" , are prepared  in these utensils
