Tea Bungalow has 10 large en-suite rooms each named after a port involved in spice and tea trading from lands around the Indian Ocean. The rooms are named Cochin, Zanzibar, Galle, Mombasa, Muscat, Malacca, Mauritius, Cambay, Goa and Calicut. Each room has deft design touches of each ethnic port.

Tea Bungalow is an art connoisseur's delight. Take a look at the doors of the Cochin suite. The ornate carving is the perfect foil for the simple elegance of the room. There are exquisite paintings on the walls and suddenly the delighted guest comes across an absolute gem like the miniature ancient sailing ship with three furled sails, not riding the waves but perched on a stool pointing at the admiral on the wall. It looks like the Captain is just waiting for his order to hoist the main sail and set off on a new adventure.
The beautifully designed bathrooms have hot and cold showers and world-class fixtures. Specially handcrafted sandalwood soap provided, is made exclusively for Dempo Resorts.

Café du Mahé is named after the 18th century hero Governor of Mauritius Bertrand-François Mahé de La Bourdonnais. This is a multi-cuisine restaurant which serves Indian, Kerala and Continental cuisine. Café du Mahé is an elegant dining area with tables that seat four or six. The tableware is exquisite. Beautifully designed, this restaurant which seats 50, opens onto the garden. Some tables are also set up al fresco near the pool. This special ambience when added to the excellent cuisine and superb service makes every meal at Café du Mahé, a supremely pleasurable experience. |
