The world-renowned Gir forest is the natural habitat of the Asiatic lion. The Gir National Park and Sanctuary cover an area of 1400 square kilometers of dry deciduous forest and tropical thorn forest. The forest is home to carnivores like the leopard, jungle cat, rusty spotted cat and hyena which prey on cheetal, sambhar, four horned antelope, wild boar and hare. Gir is also a bird watcher's paradise and home to over 200 species of avi-fauna.

The Gir Lodge The lodge is located on the periphery of the Gir forest, 65 km from Junagadh railway station and 60 km from Keshod airport. The Gir Lodge has 29 rooms including 2 suites.

Types of Accommodation 29 centrally air-conditioned rooms including 2 suites.

Standard Rooms: These elegantly appointed rooms offer guest amenities like international direct dial facility (on request) and colour television with satellite programmes. Attached bathrooms with hot water facility from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. and from 6.30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Dipdo Suite: An elegantly appointed one-bedroom suite with a living room.

Sawaj Suite: A tastefully decorated two-bedroom suite with a living room.

Facilities and Services Safe deposit lockers, doctor-on-call, car park and indoor games. Laundry service. Currency exchange facility and room service not available.

Hiran View: Dining room serving Continental and Indian cuisine. Open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Meeting Rooms and Banquet Facilities Sasan Hall with a capacity of 40 persons theatre-style and 22 persons in U-shaped seating arrangement.
