Mornings bring sensational sunrises of brilliant color rising over the jungle and nights star filled sky. Siswan Jungle Lodge is a delighful nature lodge with only eight rooms to offer personal service, privacy and tranquility.

Climb the observation road on the Dam for a superb view of the dense forest that surrounds the Dam or trek into the untracked trails of the forest to see the wild animals and colorful birds in their natural habitat. Stags, Gorals, wild boars, Barking Deer, Neelgai have been sighted. Trails lead to nearby villages and hill tops where you can good view of Jungle and nearby areas.

Small Groups
At Siswan, excursions are always done in small groups (4-6 persons on avg. and 8 max.). This way we ensure personal attention and the ability to tailor activities to the interests and abilities of the group. Interested in an active, adventurous stay? No problem. You want to focus on nature observation and soak it all in at a slower pace? This can also be arranged. Just let us know.

Expert Guides
To share our passion for the Siswan, excursions are led by local guides who have a thorough knowledge of the surrounding flora, fauna and native cultures. Siswan is also a preferred location for research and scientific study. When present, researchers are happy to dedicate time to share their experience with our guests.

Eco-tourism
Siswan is committed to protecting and preserving the rainforest through sustainable practices and education, while supporting and involving the surrounding local communities. Siswan was fully constructed with FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) label materials and follows environmentally friendly practices. We are involved in projects with local communities providing aid and support as well as giving employment and training.

The Siswan reserve is situated in a privileged location in or near many unspoiled ecosystems that are rich in flora and fauna. To the south are the Amazon and Preto da Eva Rivers and to the north the Urubú River. Within the reserve we have over 5000 hectares (12,355 acres) of virgin primary forest and about 800 hectares (2000 acres) of secondary forest. In order to give our guests the opportunity to live the Amazon fullly, we have accommodations in several locations so guests can enjoy a variety of experiences surrounded by different ecosystems.

Our base camp, Siswan Jungle Lodge, is situated in a clearing of a terra firme secondary forest with many facilities our guests can enjoy; Jane's Place, our jungle survival camp, is in the primary forest, allowing deeper jungle exploration for the more adventurous; and our soon to be opened Siswan Dam Lodge will offer spacious accommodations in an idyllic damside location. Visitors can stay at one or more of our locations and choose a package to suit their interests and length of stay. We are also happy to design a customized package with our guests to suit individual interests.
