The
recent addition to Woodville Palace is the beautiful garden
restaurant called ‘The House of the Rising Sun’, which was
inaugurated by the Bollywood Superstar Amitabh Bachchan.
It is aesthetically located in the sprawling gardens of
Woodville Palace and is surrounded by bamboo and deodars,
which provide an ideal and natural enclosure. Constructed
purely out of clear glass, one can see and hear the raindrops
drumming against the roof and running down the glass walls
even as one is indulging into scrumptious delights.

Ideal
for Weddings and Receptions
Woodville
Palace is the ideal location for hosting marriages and
wedding receptions. With its lush ivy, stretches of
rose ensconced gardens and quaint turrets; Woodville
is truly a romantic heritage in every sense as it sits
nestled among the picturesque Himalayas. A number of
weddings boasting the presence of dignitaries and historic
figures from across the globe have been held at Woodville
Palace. For those desirous of a truly royal wedding,
Woodville is the ultimate solution when it comes to
location. We also arrange for a team of experienced
wedding planners who take meticulous care, as any member
of your family would, to make the wedding as memorable
as the classic royal aura of Woodville Palace.
Woodville has been a site for many royal weddings in
the past. The palace is filled with the memories of
the romantic weddings of the princes and princesses
of yesteryears. The first grand wedding was that of
Princess Ila Devi of Jubbal on 5th May, 1940, with Yuvraj
Harish Chandra Singh of the princely state of Jhalawar
in Rajasthan. The lawns of woodville were full of fun
and activity for over a week. However, another romantic
wedding was that of Princess Ourmila Devi of Kapurthala
and Prince Birendra Singh of Jubbal, the present owners
parents, on 4th July, 1941, in grand style in the summer
capital of British India. Woodville once again became
a scenario of another royal wedding in the year 1948
when Princess Devender Kumari of Jubbal married Yuvraj
Madaneshwar Singh Deo of Surguja state, Chattisgarh,
in this splendid palace.
