ROHTANG PASS (3979 m)
Rohtang pass is 51kms. from Manali on highway to Keylong/Leh. Rohtang Pass offers a panorama and spectacular mountain view. Rohtang pass is open from June to October each year although trekkers can cross it earlier. Rohtang Pass is a gateway to Lahaul Spiti, Pangi and Leh valley just as Zojila pass is a gateway to Ladakh. There are beautiful sight of glaciers, peaks and Chandra river flows down in the Lahaul valley. Slightly to the left are the twin peaks of the Geypan. During summer (mid June to October) regular buses ply between Manali - Keylong / Darcha, Udaipur, Spiti and Leh.
HADIMBA TEMPLE
The Hadimba temple is located in lovely wilderness and natural setting. It is just 2 km. from the Mall and 1 KM from Casa Bella. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Hadimba, the mother of Ghatotkatch. The temple is a four tiered pagoda shaped structure adorned with real horns of sheep that were cut and placed there as a gesture of their worship to the Goddess. The temple was erected by Raja Bahadur Singh in 1553.
The interior of the temple is a rock cut, beneath which lie the impressions of the Goddess' feet that are worshipped there. In the surroundings of the temple there are huge pine and deodar forests maintained by the government authorities. One can find many rabbits and sheep here. There is also an arena of stalls where vendors sell beautiful mementos to be carried back home as a remembrance of this temple.
MANALI MALL
The mall of Manali is one place that's never found empty on any day. Tourists as well as the locals of Manali love to visit this place. The mall of Manali is full of life and light. There are various eating joints offering various cuisines; Punjabi, Gujarati, Bengali, Chinese, Spanish, Italian and many more. There are also guys offering to do a massage for your feet if you have exhausted yourself on foot in the hills of Manali. There are also shops selling articles made in the region like Kullu shawls, stoles, kurtas and much more.
TIBETAN MONASTERY
With a huge population of Tibetan people settled in the Kullu region, several Tibetan monasteries were set up in Manali. The monasteries are rich in preserving the culture of the Tibetan people. Literature and crafts of the people of Tibet are preserved in the Tibetan monasteries at Manali.
The Gadhan Thekchoking Gompa is located near the Mall in Manali. The monastery is run by local people who raise money through donations. The unique feature of the monastery is the craft of Tibetan art and woven rugs and are sold at the monastery. The Gadhan Thekchoking Gompa in Manali was built in the year 1969. The architecture of the monastery is the style of Tibetan architecture designed with colorful frescoes. The statue of Lord Buddha presides over the monastery.
The Himalayan Nyingamapa Gompa is situated near the market square of Manali. The architecture of this monastery contained a more modern style than the previous. Located in the heart of sunflowers, the monastery shines at night with lighted lamps to lighten up. The huge golden face of Buddha statue presides over the monastery.
The aromatic scent of incense sticks are lit Tibetan monasteries in the Tibetan Manali establishes a charm enchanting tourists and lure to visit the monastery again. The Tibetan monasteries at Manali is one of the attractions of Manali and available primarily as an important pilgrimage route for a tour of Manali. |

Naggar Fort
Naggar Fort is another attractive destination for tourists in Manali, Himachal Pradesh. Lying south of Manali, it stands as a summary of the legacy of the golden past of nearly 1500 years of Pal dynasty. Built with stones, and Woodcutting complex, it is a symbol of artistic and exquisite courtesy of the entire region of Himachal. In the subsequent period, the fortress was transformed into a hotel and nursing home that offers comfort and luxury to residents. Hosted also get fascinated by the beauty of a small shrine, which is placed in the courtyard of the fort. Really, it represents the beauty of its art and architecture of the Pal dynasty there.
Jagatsukh
This local spot in Manali, Himachal Pradseh is popular for various ancient temples dedicated to Lord Shiva and Sandhya Gayatri. The temple was built later, following the style Shikhara. There was placed about six kilometers from Manali, Himachal Pradseh on the Beas River `s on the left side of the road to Naggar.
Vashist hot water springs and temple
Vashist, a small village that tourists visit in large numbers. It has a multitude of temples, hot springs that made it a popular name among the tourists Manali. It has its location on the Beas River `s left side leading to Rohtang pass. Nearby there is also a beautiful temple pyramid made of stone. It was dedicated to Vashist Muni. There is also a beautiful temple, which is dedicated to Lord Rama. Natural sulfur hot springs are also unique. Anyone can bask in the pleasure of bathing. There are two individual tanks for both men and women. More elegant shower facility built in the Turkish fashion are built in narrow areas. Again we can have the ease of getting hot water to bathe in the springs located in and around.
Kothi
Kothi is a wonderful tourist spot, located about twelve kilometers from Manali, Himachal Pradesh. To be more precise, it is on the road to Rohtang Pass. It is ideal for shooting films and also stimulates one to feed the creative impulse. A PWD rest house and also a number of hotels are built to meet the increasing tourists, freaks of nature
Manu Temple
The Manu Temple is the temple of the ancient Rishi Manu. It is situated in Old Manali. On your way to the temple, you will find the entire area occupied by Hippies. There are restaurants that serve Italian food exclusively. The hoardings are all in Hebrew. The people who had migrated years ago are still residing there. Also there are various shops where you can find articles of the Himalayan origin.
ROERICH ART GALLERY
The art gallery has been housed in the building where the great artist once lived. He had bought the building in 1923 from Raja Of Mandi. The building has two storeys. In the lower storey there is a art gallery having 45 paintings. One of the painting showing the sun set is the masterpiece of art two paintings show the view of "Ghepan peaks" in Lauhal. The stones idols of Shiva Parvathi, Ganesh, Googa pir, Vishnu, Durga etc. have been fixed in the open on the northern end of the courtyard under the tree. The car, a 1928 model, once used by Roerich has also been exhibited in a garage next to gallery on the northern side. The upper storey, the things of daily use of the Roerich family have been so arranged that they may depict their way of living. These rooms are usually kept locked, but its view can be had through the transparent window/door panels. Mr. Roerich died here on 13th December 1947. The gallery remains open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.
