pangong Lake Pangong Tso: Pangong Tso can be reached in a five-hour drive from Leh, most of it on a rough and dramatic mountain road. The road crosses the villages of Shey and Gya and traverses the third-highest pass in the world, the Changla pass, where army sentries and a small teahouse greet visitors.
diskit gompa Ensa Gompa: The 250 years old Ensa Gompa, nestled on top of a rock overlooking snow-peaked mountains across the valley is much further away than it looks. It takes at least a six-hour walk to reach, which involves crossing the river at Hargam.
sand dunes Samstenling Gompa: Samstenling Monastery was founded by Lama Tsultrim Nima and Monastic community was introduced as Rezong Gompa. About 50-60 monks are residing at this 132 years old monastery. The Gompa has some strict rules and regulations.
Beach Diskit Gompa: Diskit Gompa was founded by Lama Sherab Zangpo of Stod in about 1420 AD during the reign of King Dragspa. About 100 monks are residing in the Gompa, which is a branch of Thikse Monastery. The monastic festival called Gustor takes place on 20th and 21st days of the 12th month of Tibetan calendar. Spectacular view of the valley can be seen from the monastery.
Beach Diskit Village: Diskit is the main village of headquarter of Nubra valley, which has a small market consisting of a row of shops and about 500 years old Gompa on the hilltop. Spectacular view of the valley can be seen from the monastery.

Beach Sand Dunes: Hunder village is known for its sand dunes sitting pretty amidst snowcapped mountains green valleys and rivers. It is a place where you can find sand dunes, rivers, mountains.
Beach Khardungla Road: The road journey to Nubra valley leads through Khardung La pass (The highest Motor able road in the world) 18,390 ft. around 50 Km away from Leh. There are two checkpoints on the both sides of the pass. Khardong is the first village of Nubra valley at higher altitude than Deskit and other village.
Beach Hunder Village: Hunder is a beautiful village to stay with lot of trees and you will really enjoy your stay at Hunder. It has a small monastery and ruined fort above the village and is located on the ancient Silk Route. The walk or Camel Safari (Double Hump bacterian camels) from Hunder to Diskit, through sand dunes for two hours is wonderful.
Beach Panamik Lake: This pond has its own myth. As local beliefs go, the fortunate can see a reflection of the famed Potala Palace of Lhasa in its waters.
How to reach Nubra
By Road
Leh can be reached from Srinagar between May and October and the Manali-Leh road is open from June to October there can be some variations in the period depending upon the weather conditions. Rest of the season the road is closed due to heavy snow and bad weather conditions. The road from Srinagar to Leh is around 434 kilometers. After been made National highway the road is smoother than earlier. J & K SRTC operates ordinary and deluxe buses. You can also opt for shared taxis which charge anything between 800 to 1300 rupees depending up the choice of seat and other conditions. The ride from Manali to Leh is somewhat tougher because of the bad road conditions it takes around two days, stopping overnight at Keylong for a tent stay is more adventurous. The road from Manali to Leh is around 479 km .Himachal Tourism and State Transport Corporation along with J&K SRTC and several other travel companies run regular bus service to Leh. You can also opt for shared a taxi which charges anything between 1000 to 1500 rupees depending up the choice of seat and other conditions. From Leh you can take bus or taxi to Nubra valley which is about 125 km from Leh. If you are for more adventures you can also rent bikes, available on rent in Leh and will cost you anywhere between rupees 600 a day for an Enfield to rupees 300 for others. The road to Nubra valley takes you over the Khardong La which is the world highest motorable road, Khardong La Pass which is at a height of 18380 ft above sea level and is about 50 kms from Leh. This is an adventurous bike ride to one of the highest mountain passes in India, and amongst the most exhilarating experience.
By Train
By train travel, the closest railway station is Jammu, there are regular train services from Delhi and many other cities to Jammu railway station, from Jammu you can take buses or taxi ride to Srinagar and then to Leh. From Leh you can take bus or taxi to Nubra valley which is about 125 km from Leh. If you are for more adventures you can also rent bikes, available on rent in Leh and will cost you anywhere between rupees 600 a day for an Enfield to rupees 300 for others. The road to Nubra valley takes you over the Khardong La which is the world highest motorable road, Khardong La Pass which is at a height of 18380 ft above sea level and is about 50 kms from Leh. This is an adventurous bike ride to one of the highest mountain passes in India, and amongst the most exhilarating experience .
By Air
The following airlines (Kingfisher, Jet Airways, and Air India) operate regular flights to Leh from Delhi, Jammu and Srinagar. The duration of Delhi-Leh flight is just an hour long. Better booked the air-tickets before 2 or 3 months in advance because during May to October tickets prices are very high due to heavy tourist influx. From Leh you can take bus or taxi to Nubra valley which is about 125 km from Leh.
