Enter
the pristine, white, marble lobby for an effusive
welcome with a shower of petals and a garland of flowers.
Life sized portraits of Jaipur Royals gaze down and
palace butlers stand at attention nearby, anticipating
every need and ensuring that you are treated like
a personal guest of the Maharaja.
Our palace butlers are trained as knowledgeable hosts,
taking care of royalty. They can arrange unforgettable
palace experiences, from a walk through the gardens
with champagne served at the polo bar, to unique dining
experiences in different parts of the palace, or to
vintage car drives through the city. Anything you
desire will be tailor made into a personalised guest
experience.
Inside The Hotel
In the finest tradition of Rajput hospitality, the
Rambagh Palace offers its guests a taste of royal
living - a luxury and extravagance that was once the
sole preserve of kings. It’s elegantly appointed
rooms, marbled corridors and majestic gardens echo
with history. We invite you to take advantage of everything
The Rambagh Palace has to offer.
Palace Gardens & Bird Watching
Featured in Peter Coat’s ‘The Most Beautiful
Gardens in the World’, the palace gardens are
a haven for some of the land’s most beautiful
birds. The star, of course, being possibly the world’s
most beautiful bird - the majestic peacock. A stroll
through the five gardens is bound to find you within
sight of these glorious birds, strutting proudly about
and justifying every one of the myriad poems penned,
lyrics sung and canvases painted to celebrate their
beauty.
It isn’t just the peacock that flaps its wings
here, though. Wagtails, babblers, mynahs, pariah kites,
tailorbirds and red-vented bulbuls are just a few
of the migrants and residents that fill the gardens
with their chirps and songs.
As the symphony of the birds fills your head and empties
it of every care, and the gentle breeze accompanies
you on your walk, it’s easy to see why the ladies
of the zenana escaped to these gardens to get away
from the proceedings of the palace.
Let your palace butler guide you to the right bird
books in our palace bookstore and assist you in your
bird-watching trips.
Nightly Performances
In stark contrast to the vast uni-hued desert sands,
our folk dancers and musicians explode in a riot of
colour and vibrant tradition.
Sit back on the sprawling upper front lawns of the
palace as they enthral you with their lively steps
and jaunty tunes against the backdrop of the majestic
palace - a show nearly identical to the ones the maharajas
of yore enjoyed.
Summer timings: 7:30 p.m onwards.
Winter timings: 7:00 p.m onwards.
Astrologer
The ancient rulers of these desert kingdoms were fierce
believers in their court astrologers, and would rarely
make a move without the stars aligning in their favour.
Experience for yourself the mystique of this age-old
practice as acclaimed palace palmist and astrologer
Mr. Dandiya consults the future in your palm and in
the stars.
Mr. Dandiya is available every evening on the upper
front lawns from 8:00 onwards. For an appointment
and consultation charges, do speak to your palace
butler.
Sports and Activities
Sporting enthusiasts can find a lot to be enthusiastic
about at the palace.
Enjoy a lap or two in the sparkling outdoor pool.
Make your way to the palace jogging track for a brisk
walk or jaunty run. Take a short walk from the main
port cochere to the mini-golf course, croquet field
and table tennis room.
Historical Walk
The Historical Walk leads guests through the whims
of princes, the romance of princesses, the impeccable
pride and craft of royal artisans, the passion of
artists and two and a half centuries of royal lives
and times. Palace Butlers keep listeners enthralled
with insights into the history of the palace and anecdotes
of yesteryear’s maharajas. After a century-and-a-half
of legacy and legend, gently transition back to the
present with a glass of Sparkling Wine at the legendary
Polo Bar.
This tour into the past begins every evening in the
lobby, at 5:30 from October to March, and at 6:00
from April to September. Revel in these echoes of
the palace’s royal past, painstakingly retained
and maintained in a more modern age, with our compliments.
Shopping
Inside the palace, an arcade of shops and boutiques
near the port cochere and on the lobby level await
you. Browse through the fine jewellery, handicrafts,
rare carpets and durries, traditional artefacts, Rajasthani
haute couture and - at the unique bookstore - special
coffee table books and other titles on Rajasthan.
Indoor & Outdoor Pool
The indoor pool was the favorite retreat of the royals,
who spent many hours relaxing in the blue waters.
A weather controlled outdoor pool is also provided,
with an adjoining courtyard filled with sundeck chairs
and accented by a fountain.

rulers' list of favourite games was golf. Your palace
butler will happily arrange for your 18-hole game
at the Rambagh Golf Club.
Vintage Car Rides
When you’re living the life of a king, there
is only one way to explore the Pink City - seated
inside a vintage car that was once in the possession
of an Indian royal family, your faithful butler at
your side.
Architectural marvels, majestic gardens, postcard-perfect
landscapes, the vibrant hues of local life - they
pass you by in a rainbow stream as your palace butler
lets you in on the significance and secrets of each
wondrous sight and site.
Guests can also choose to ride in the palace’s
vintage horse-drawn carriage every evening. The carriage
holds four guests and carries you around the palace
grounds.
To arrange your vintage excursion, do contact Palace
Services.
Landmark Spotting
The Pink City is renowned for its glorious architecture.
Step out of the palace and explore them with the aid
of your palace butler and the many helpful sightseeing
books in our palace bookshop.
Here are a few you simply mustn’t miss.
Since the first half of the 18th century, the City
Palace has been the abode to the rulers of Jaipur.
The sprawling expanse of the breathtaking palace is
a superb harmony of Rajput and Mughal architecture.
Part of the palace has been converted into a museum,
open to the public, while a section - Chandra Mahal
- still remains the home of today’s maharaja.
The whimsical Hawa Mahal - Palace of Winds - has become
quite the city icon, with its ornate facade in pale
pink, tiered baroque like build, projecting ‘jharokha’
windows and balconies with perforated screens. These
were designed so that the mysterious veiled ladies
of the harem could look down upon the colourful and
bustling bazaars below, remaining hidden themselves.
The magnificent Amber Fort was established in 1592,
and remained the citadel of the Kachhawaha rulers
right until they moved their capital to Jaipur in
1727. Maharaja Man Singh I created this imposing monument
on the remains of an ancient 11th century fort.
Local Shopping
No trip to Jaipur is quite complete without a visit
to the charming bazaars that line its streets.
Buzzing with activity and teeming with people, these
energetic colourful capsules of Rajasthani life are
a sheer joy to be around. Watch a silversmith craft
the chunky ethnic silver jewellery that the land is
known for, be enthralled as a puppeteer sews the life
into his puppets, be drawn into the clinks and colours
of the bangle sellers’ wares, be captivated
by the rows upon rows of shops and stalls displaying
their rainbow-hued tied-n-dyed cottons and vibrant
vegetable-dyed fabrics and peep into the myriad tiny
workshops with local craftsmen creatively at work
on their specialties.
Go happily around in circles as you soak in the sights
and sounds of Johari Bazaar - the gems and jewellery
haunt, to Badi Chaupar (Big Square) and Choti Chaupar
(Small Square) - the places for hunting down local
crafts, to Bapu Bazaar - which is lined with fabric,
silver jewellery and bangles.
Turn onto M.I. Road where you’ll happen upon
exquisite gold, silver and stone jewellery at the
very same jewellers that catered to the British Raj
and the maharajas.

No
matter what the occasion - whether it’s a birthday,
a family gathering, a wedding - we have several celebration
themes to make your party unique and memorable. Our chefs
and attentive event staff assist in creating the right cuisine
for your event.
Hawa Mahal
The Hawa Mahal is an exclusive dining experience, befitting
the palace. The dinner is held on the gardens of the palace,
with the palace as backdrop. The palace facade itself is lit
with spotlights. |
Guests are welcomed by two gaily-dressed hostesses
who shower rose petals on guests as they enter the
dinner venue. A luxurious marquis is set, where a
personal butler welcomes all guests with a glass of
sparkling wine. Once cocktails are over, guests are
ushered to the tent for an exciting buffet dinner.
A small group of local artistes present soft Indian
classical music. Other attractions during the evening
include a traditional folk dance performance.
Elephant Polo
In the land of maharaja and princes, the game of Elephant
Polo was one of the ultimate royal experiences. Players
are greeted at the palace's sprawling lawns by a Royal
Brass Band. Elephant Polo is essentially an early
day activity followed by lunch. A marquis is set up
in the lawns. A bar can be arranged as per requirements
of the guests.
This theme is one of the most popular themes at Palace.
Jaipur is the only place in the world where one can
witness this exclusive yet gentle sport being played
throughout the year. Watching it is a unique and unforgettable
experience. The colossal size of the elephant, its
playful antics, graceful gait and the wisdom of its
eyes have always moved guests.
Grand Rajasthani Soiree
One of the most popular themes at the Taj Jaipur Palaces.
This theme includes the finery of the Maharaja Welcome,
a stunning display of floral logo followed by a barbeque
dinner with a well-illuminated palace backdrop.
Maharaja Welcome
As was in the past, when maharaja used to return after
state visits or had royalty visiting them, a stunning
tableau of decorated camels, horses, elephants used
to unfold into a ceremonial welcome. Ladies in Rajasthani
costumes perform the traditional garlanding "aarti"
and "tikka" ceremonies while the music of
the "Shenai" welcomes you.
Grand Royal Procession Welcome
This theme recreates the ambience of the welcome accorded
to a victorious Rajput warrior. The entire driveway
to the palace is lined with caparisoned elephants
and camels. Elephants with trunks raised in salute
accompany guests who are taken in royal carriages

members participate as the "baraat" (i.e.

If however guests wish to get married actually, a
Registrar of Weddings and / or a Chappel Priest can
be arranged.
The wedding procession is arranged with a local band,
a horse for the groom to sit on, floral arrangements
and other elements of a North Indian wedding. The
local priest performs the wedding rites and also explains
