Geoffrey Bawa Room

In the 1970’s the renowned Srilankan architect Geoffrey Bawa built the club house on the grounds of the officer’s bungalow, Using honey colored granite, materials and artisans from within 20 miles of Madurai he created a landmark Bawa structure. The ‘Swig & Tee’ bar epitomizes the colonial club culture of British Madurai. One section of the bar is part of the main clubhouse building of the 1970s, while the new extension features a contemporary bar counter. The location features alfresco dining and not only serves breakfast, but also a tempting array of freshly made sandwiches, cookies, snacks, pastries and chocolates are all set to give your day flying start.
