Ilbert Manor is a unique luxury Heritage Boutique hotel set in the stupendous Mussoorie hills in India. ( 7000 feet above sea level ) . We believe in preserving the history and heritage of this magnificent property built around 1840 by Majaor Brace . After Having a few Bristish owners , in the year 1890 Sir Courtenay Ilbert of the Ilbert Bill controvery 1883 , visited mussoorie and updated the Ilbert Manor . In its many incarnations , this fine heritage building was an up-marked boarding house run by descendant , Miss Elizabeth Rose in the 1900s . In the post Independence years , Rani Laxmi Kaur Sahiba of Shivgarh owned the estate . Today , it is a fine heritage boutique hotel where the whiff of Raj still lingers . The only thing you can be sure of is the nostalgia that brought the esrly pioneers to the magic of the hills. |
