In fact, the holiest of Hindu pilgrimage spots are scattered across this heavenly state. Uttarakhand finds mention in the early Hindu scriptures as the combined region of Kedarkhand and Manaskhand, which is present day Garhwal and Kumaon regions.

Unlike a commercial hotel, ours is a cherished dream - a home-away-from-home, situated approximately 6000 feet high in the lap of Mother Nature,at its unpolluted best.
Be mesmerized at the awesome sight of the majestic Himalayan range - a panoramic jaw-dropping 180 degree view of snow-clad peaks– from Nanda Devi to Nanda Kot to Panchachuli to the daunting, ever-nearer Trishul.
 

Accommodation

Each of our 2 and 3 bedroom cottages are very tastefully furnished; bedrooms having attached baths, along with a separate living/dining area, a terrace opening up to the valley below, afully operational kitchen, and a private sit out garden.

Meals are prepared for our guests in the kitchen itself by a dedicated chef/assistant and served in the dining area. If you feel the occasion calls for a celebration,arrangements can be made for an open-air Barbecue dinner.

Being city folks ourselves, like many dreamers, we too had often dreamt of that idyllic mountain cottage, high up in the Himalayas, visualizing white smoke rising from the chimney.

Naturally, we understand, and can feel your inner desire, how you yearn to unwind - to break away from the daily city-grind, juggling between work, life and traffic.

Your Day at Vimoksha
Vimoksha ResortsEnliven yourself as you start your day with a hot cup of beverage with birds chirping all around your cottage. Feel the fresh mountain breeze brush across your face, as you take a short trek amidst the Pine forest, tempted as ever to pick up a few pine cones to carry back home as mementos. The child in you still lives on, don't let it die...

After a hearty Indian/Continental breakfast, our driver-cum-guide would be ready to take you sightseeing around the cantonment town of Ranikhet, just 15 minutes away. Visit the ancient Kalika temple, the mythical Jhula Devi temple, Chaubatia Orchids, the War Museum or just simply Tee your best shots at the world's highest Golf Course at Upat.
 
 
You can also prefer to take a short detour to the lake Bhaludam (19 kms), Shitlakhet (25 kms), or towards the revered Jageshwar Group of temples (60 kms).

If adventure is your passion, on your request, we would be happy to organize activities including rock-climbing, rappelling, valley crossing, mountain biking, jungle walks or village detours.Trekking
As you reach back tired, a hot lunch, cooked with organically-grown fresh vegetables from our kitchen garden, awaits to entice your taste buds. Stomach satisfied, you can pick up a book and simply get into one of the hammocks to doze off.

As evening draws closer, simply be delighted by the plethora of colours emanated at the snow-clad peaks with the last rays of the setting sun.

Soon, the fire-place is alighted to warm up your body, as you engage yourself discussing a few myths and legends of the mountains. A dinner of authenticate local Kumaoni cuisine is the perfect ending as you retire to the night - fulfilled…
 
Weather at Vimoksha
Ranikhet/Majkhali is an “all year comfort zone” because of its altitude (approx 1800 meters) .
Summers (March to May) are very pleasant with the temperature during the morning/day hours varying between 18°C to 27°C. After the sunset the temperature drops down and ranges between 12°C to 18°C with cool breeze touching ones face.

The monsoon season in Ranikhet stretches over from mid-June to August. Lots of cultural and sports activities take place in the city post monsoon.

Winters (November to February) have a temperature range of 7°C to 18°C during morning/day, just adequate to have a whole day sun bath. After the sunset chilly cold comes to play with you and the temperature comes down to even 0°C at late night. Snowfalls occurs during winters and the “Paala” is every morning affair.

From Delhi- CatchRanikhet Express (Daily Overnight train) or Uttarakhand Sampark Kranti (Daily evening Train) or AVT Ac Express (Thrice a week morning train) up till Kathgodam and then follow the road instructions.
From Lucknow–Catch Nainital Express up to Lalkuan, then a cab to Haldwani –Bhowali-Khairna- Ranikhet-Majhkhali.
