Tal This is a beautiful lake situated at a distance
of 3 kms from Bhimta away from hustle bustle in the
lap of nature. As it has nine corners that's why it
is known as Naukuchiatal. It is also nice place for
fishing, boating and watching migratory birds. One
can enjoys ride on Yatches and Paddle boats. Naukuchiatal
is, perhaps, the most beautiful of all the lakes in
Uttarakhand. A unique nine-cornered lake, it is situated
24 km away from Nainital, in the foothills of Kumaon,
at an altitude of 1,219 meters. The beautiful lake
is alimented by an underwater spring. Naukuchiatal
Lake is surrounded by dense oak forests from all the
sides. The first sight of this tranquil lake is mesmerizing
and eye-soothing, sure to leave you wanting for more.

Naini
Lake The nucleus of Nainital's uncomparable beauty
is beautiful lake. In the day, mirrored in its waters

and villas. More beautiful than this however is the
lake at night when the myriads of bulbs from the hill
sides and quite a large number hanging near the lake's
edge stab their magic light into its waters. The lake
offers the holiday makers ample opportunity for yachting,
boating or paddling the boat. Boating rates in conventional
rowing boats ranges from Rs. 80/- to Rs. 120/- from
one end of lake to another end. Paddling boats are
available on hourly rate from Rs. 80/- to Rs. 120/-

Bhimtal
Bhimtal is 22 Kms. from Nainital and 11 Kms. from
Bhowali at an altitude of 1370 mts. The pride of Bhimtal
is a beautiful lake which offers magnificent vistas
for tourists. The lake is larger than Naini lake.
Tourist enjoys here boating in lake. There is an island
amid lake a restaurant is located atop it. Tourist
visit here by boats. The distance of island from lake
shore is 91 mts.There is a 17th century Bhimeshwar
temple complex along the 40 feet high dam . The local
bus stand and taxi stand is situated near it. One
road from Bhimtal leaves for Naukuchiatal while the
another one goes to Kathgodam 21 Kms from here.Connectivity
is available from Indian Rail upto Kathgodam and from
kathgodam by road that is 21 Kms.Nearest Airport is
PantNagar Airport distance of 35 Kms.
Naina
Devi Temple Nainital name has been originated from
Naina Devi and Naina Devi temple is situated right
on Naini Lake near flats, It is said that eye of goddes
Sati(Wife of Lord Shiva) fell here at Nainital thus
lake is known as Naini Lake. Tibbetan Shopping market
is situated besides Naina Devi Temple. The Naina Devi
Temple was destroyed by the landslip of 1880 and later
rebuilt. It is located on the northern shore of Naini
Lake at Mallital. This temple is devoted to Maa Naina
Devi represented by two Netras or eyes. Idol of Mata
Kali and Lord Ganesha flanks Naina Devi.
Kainchi
Dham Kainchi Dham is located at the Nainital - Almora
road, about 9 kms. from Bhowali and 17 kms. from Nainital.
It is a pilgrimage centre which has achieved huge
recognition for the ashram of famous Neem Karoli Maharaj.
Kainchi Dham is named because of the two sharp hairpin
bends of the road. Kainchi is a local term of Uttara.
Khurpatal
Khurpatal is a serene lake with emerald green waters
located at a distance of 10 kms from Nainital An ideal
spot with bea utiful lush green meadows away from
routine life in lap of nature. Surrounded by terraced
fields it is a real heaven. Number of fishes are there
in this lake thus one can also enjoy fishing here.

Bhimtal
Ghorakhal
Ghorakhal is a place that is famous for the temple
of Lord Golu that is located here. Lord Golu is worshipped
by the local people. There is also a Sainik School
situated here. One of the main tourist attractions
of Kumaon ( Nainital ) Gorakhal Temple ( Temple of
Famous GOLU DEVTA ) is located near Bhimtal. Situated
in tranquil locality of huge Deodar and oak trees
and adjacent to Sainik School this temple is just
4 Km from Bhowali and 15Kms from Nainital. The main
attraction of this temple is large number of bells
hanged by the devotees under reverence and in token
of fulfillment of their wishes for many decades and
still continues
Sattal
Sat tal is located at a distance of about 23 kms.
from Nainital, and at an altitude of 1,370 metres
above sea level. It is a very beautiful place which
has seven lakes which are set in the oak forests.
All these lakes are situated at an altitude of 1,370
metres. In Hindi, the word Sattal means seven lakes.
This is one of the few places which is still unspoilt
and unpolluted. Every year, lots of migratory birds
make their way to Sattal because of its fresh water
lakes. The seven lakes that make Sattal are the following:
* Panna or Garud Tal * Nal-Damyanti Tal * Purna Tal
* Sita Tal * Ram Tal * Laxman Tal * Sukha Tal or Khurdariya
Tal Sattal experiences pleasant climate round the
year. The summer months of April, May and June also
observe pleasant climate, making it an ideal getaway
for the people from plain lands. At an altitude of
approx 4,000 feet, surrounded by dense oak and pine
forests, the place has fresh green fauna, clear blue
water and sweet chirping of birds, of the place brings
on earth a virtual paradise for tourists.
Butterfly
Museum A rich butterfly museum, at Jones Estate, is
a major tourist attraction of Sat Tal, with over 2,500
species of butterflies and 1100 species of insects
that are native to the Kumaoni region. The museum
was established by Federic Smetacek, better known
as the butterfly man.
Methodist
Ashram Established in 1930 by Stanley Jones, a great
missionary and a friend of Mahatma Gandhi, Methodist
Ashram is situated at the entry point of Sat Tal banks.
The historical importance and fine colonial architecture
of the place make it a popular destination. The famous
St. Johns Church is also situated within the premises
of the ashram.
