Our in-house artist will explain you how the tones are prepared from natural substances such as pulp of leaves, terracotta etc. mixed in neem oil. Each painting you come across in Blackberry Hills are painted as such. You may have your own creation. Or you may buy one from our gallery.
Learn local farming techniques
Our extensive farm cultivates local vegetables avoiding pesticides and chemical fertilizers. Those who are interested in farming can spend hours together interacting with Mr. Guru Sami, our farm hand.
Mountain climbing
For those who dare to opt for risks and the sheer joy emanating from it, guests can go for Rappelling or Jumering in the hillocks in our own property, next to your cottage.

How to Reach
Munnar is almost in the middle of the State of Kerala . It is accessible from most of the places of importance of Kerala and neighboring south Indian states.
A pleasant drive of 3.5 Hours (120KMS) takes you to Munnar via National Highway 49. An asphalted road ( Bison Valley Road ) connects Blackberry Hills to National Highway 49 at Headworks Dam. It is only 3 KMS from the town of Munnar .
Munnar is accessible from the port city of Kochi , temple town of Madurai , backwater town of Alleppy . (Each about 3.5 hours by road.) |

MUNNAR :- Magnificent Munnar lies in the calm Kannan Devan Hills, 1524m above the sea level. 136kms from Kochi , Munnar offers you breathtaking sights of low lying clouds and mist filled green valleys. In the vicinity of Munnar, there are several places of interest to the serious researcher, genuine naturalist and the wandering tourist.
ANAMUDI :- 20 Kms, The highest peak in South India . 8853 ft. Rising to a height of 2695 metres, this is the highest mountain peak south of the Himalayas . For those who like mountaineering and related adventures and for the researchers in rare plants, this is one of the finest places to visit.
RAJAMALA :- 17 Kms Home to the last of the Nilgiri Tahr. The Nilgiri tahr, a very rare type of mountain goat (Hemitragas bylocres) , on the verge of extinction. Half the world population of this rare goat is seen in and around Rajamala. The kurinji flowers blooming once in twelve years abound here. The combination of these two rare sights will make any visitor come again and again to this place.
MARAYUR :- 40 Kms, Famous for its hermitages (Muniaras). The relics and remnants of a new stone-age culture (caves, paintings and under ground tunnels) and places connected with the legendary wanderings of 'Rama and Sita' (Ramayana) and the 'Pandavas' (the Mahabharatha) make this place important historically archaeologically. The largest concentration of high-quality natural sandal wood trees and a sandal wood factory are the present day attractions. |
