Pearl Regency is located on the Main Central Road linking Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram International Airports, 2 km from the Kottayam Railway Station and just half a kilometer from the Bus Terminal. Kottayam in central Kerala is a booming little township between the two major metropolises of Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi. Located in the lower foothills of the Western Ghats, straddling the Meenachil River and edging the backwaters of Kumarakom, Kottayam is the centre of trade for spices, vanilla, coffee and rubber with many firsts to its credit. Kottayam is renowned for its ancient churches and temples. The Valiapalli built in 1550 AD is revered for its 8th century Persian Cross with Pahlavi inscriptions on it. The Cheriapalli built in 1578 AD has exceptionally beautiful paintings over the alter. The Thirunakkara Siva Temple has extraordinarily beautiful wall paintings and fascinating sculptures. Kottayam is also the transit point for pilgrims to the holy Sabarimala Shrine. Kumarakom, the famed backwater destination is just 10 kilometers by road from here and can also be accessed by boat from the Kodimatha boat jetty just walking distance from the hotel. We also offer House boat cruises and speedboat rides at very competitive rates. The Bird Sanctuary at Kumarakom is well worth a visit. Neighbouring travel destinations include the wildlife sancturies at Thekkadi and Munnar and the hillstations of Wagamon and Peerumade.
