Beaches

Andhra Pradesh has nearly 1000 kilometers of coastline with eight of its 23 districts having direct access to the sea with azure water caressing the golden sands. It is a thrill of a different kind for the fun-loving holidaymaker. Starting from Bheemunipatnam near Visakhapatnam down to Mypad in Nellore district, the coastline of Andhra Pradesh offers unalloyed joy to the sun worshippers and sea bathers. Apart from Visakhapatnam and Bheemunipatnam beaches, there are other famous beaches such as Manginapudi, Kakinada, Chirala, Kalingapatnam and Mypad.

Manginapudi Beach

Machilipatnam was a flourishing trading centre in days of yore and served as a gateway to India. Located at a distance of 11 km. from Machilipatnam in Krishna District, there is a lovely beach known as Manginapudi which deserves mention here not only for its picturesque locale but also for its historical importance.  The beach has tremendous potential with a natural bay and comparatively shallow and safe waters. A beautifully laid park with a fountain and well lit surroundings further enhance its reputation as a place for relaxation.

The nearest airport is at Vijayawada about 85 km.away.
The nearest railway station is at Machilipatnam about 15 km. away.
Manginapudi can be reached from Vijayawada which is at a distance of 85 km. and Machilipatnam which is at a distance of 15 km.

VodarevuVodarevu
Located in the the Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh, just 6 kms away from Chirala is Vodarevu, a little known beach. 6 km. from Chirala in Prakasam district. Quite popular with tourists regularly thronging the beach, this too is a nice getaway from the hustle and bustle of city life.

The nearest airport is at Hyderabad.
Vodarevu can be reached 6 km from Chirala, and 35 km. from Guntur.
70 km. from Vijaywada and 35 km. from Guntur.

Bheemunipatnam Beach
 
At a distance of 24 kilometers from Visakhapatnam, this beach is located at the mouth of the river Gosthani. Once a Dutch settlement, the ruins of a fort and cemetery are still intact. The beach is very safe for swimmers. The journey between Visakhapatnam and Bheemunipatnam is exhilarating.


Visakhapatnam is well connected by air with all major metros like Hyderabad, Chennai, Calcutta and Mumbai.
Daily train services from all major towns - Mumbai, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Bhubaneshwar, Calcutta etc.
 Bheemunipatnam is well connected by city buses from Visakhapatnam.

Mypad Beach
25 kilometers away from Nellore, this is a fine sandy beach. A determined sea lover will find the entire coastline of Andhra Pradesh stunningly appealing with azure sea waters gently washing the sunbathing sands and lush green vegetation providing an enchanting back drop.

 The nearest airports are at Tirupati (130 kilometers) and Chennai (200 kilometers).
 Mypad beach can be reached from Nellore (25 kilometers).
 There are local buses that reach Mypad from Nellore (25 kilometers).

Rishikonda Beach

Rishikond is just 8 km from Visakhapatnam or as some people would call it - Vizag. Golden, unspoilt beach, washed by the sun-warmed sea, it is ideal for swimmers, water skiers, and wind surfers. Tourists can enjoy a holiday in picturesque settings.
