JAIPUR
Jaipur is the
capital of Rajasthan and India's "Golden Triangle of Tourism".It is
also known as "Pink city" and pink with beautifully constructed palaces, havelis
and forts.
it is just 300 kilometres faraway from Delhi,and 200 kilometres from Agra. In
old Age, Jaipur was covered by seven gates. Those are chandpol, Sanganeri and
Ajmeri.Tall,rugged men with handle-bar whiskers sport link colored turbans were built
in 1727 A.D. by Sawai Jai Singh-II. Jaipur was the first planned city of its
time,was designed by the architect "VIDHYADHAR BHATTACHARYA". He used
the principles of town planning, as laid down in the shipla shastra, an ancient
Hindu treatise on architecture.He build the city palace and the largest stone

City
Palace is the most important landmark of jaipur which covers a
large area divided into a series of courtyards, gardens and buildings. This
is a wonderful blend of Rajasthan and Mughal
architecture, a major tourist attaraction. The center of this
palace is the seven Stories CHAND MAHAL or THE MOON PALACE which
provides a fine view of the gardens and the city. Its ground and
first floor has been converted into Maharaja Sawai Man Singh II Museum. While,the
other palace like Mubarak Mahal, Diwan-e-am and
Diwan-e-khas Sarvatobhadri and Diwan khana has been converted
into public museum.The museum houses an extensive collection of rare
manuscripts, Mughal and Rajasthani miniatures, Mughal
carpets, Costumes and textiles arms and weapons, objects of art
and royal purabhernalia. Two silver urns that are the largest
silver objects in the world as mentioned in the GEINNESS BOOK OF
WORLD RECORDS. One is the massive robs of a maharaja which is
6''-6' tall,4' wide and 250kg weights. Another is 5' high solid
silver urns that another maharaja had got made to carry the sacred
gangas water with him on his trip to England. HAWA MAHAL
Built
in 1799, The HAWA MAHAL(the palace of the winds)is one of the
most strikingly designed monument in Jaipur, was built by the
poet-king Sawai Pratap Singh. It is a stunning example of Rajput
artistry, with its pink semi octagonal and delicately honeycombed
sandstone windows(jali).it enables the ladies of the
royal household, to watch the everyday life and processions of
the city. It looks from the Sireh Deorhi Bazar as a multiniched
five story high view of the complex. There is a small
archaeological museum on the same site.

AMBER FORT
When jaipur
was built, Amber was the Capital of the old state of Dhundhar
and ruled by Mina Tribes, located upon hills that surround jaipur.The
fort, sprawled along the Maotha lake, boast so of a
massive complex gateways, courts, strainways and pillared pavilions, and
palaces that recall the glory and wealth of its
association with the Mughals.That was built by Raja Man Singh, Mirza
Raja Jai Singh and Sawai Jai Singh over a period of
one hundred and twenty five years. Within the palace, Ganesh pol,an imposing gateway pointed with images of the elephant
headed god, Ganesha takes pride of the palace. Sukh Niwas and Jas
Mandir apartments, is the typical merging of Rajput and Mughal
architectural style.
JANTAR MANTAR
Jantar
Mantar is one of the Sawai Jai Singh's five remarkable
observatories. constructed with stone and marble, its complex
instruments whose setting and shapes are precisely and scientifically
designed, represent the high-points of medieval
Indian astronomy. The two Ram Yantras used for gauging altitudes
are unique in their isolation. This is the largest of five
observatories founded by Sawai Jai Singh-II in various parts of
the country.

Biggest Canon JAIGARH:-
Jaigarh is one of the few military structures of the medieval India
preserved almost intact, containing palaces, gardens, open and covered reservoirs
granary, an armoury, a Canon foundary
and several temples.The western skyline in dominated by the
extensive Parkotas, watch towers and gateways of this was built
by jai singh in 1726 A.D.. This was sealed for seven years due to
the rumour of buring of an enormous treasure in gold. The
world's largest cannon on wheels, Jaa-vaan was truly intimidating. It's
9' high 20' long and weighs 50 tones! made in
the fort's foundaries. Another interesting Attractions is the
elaborated water filtering and storage system that is considered
a marvel, in planning. It is within walking distance of Amber, and
offers a fantastic panaromic view of the surrounding plains, form the Diwan-e-Burj watch tower.
ALBART HALL/RAMNIWAS BAG Just
outside of the walled city, occupies a museum that is pride of
place ,situated as it is in the middle of garden. To provide
open space and greenery to the citizens, this large garden with
a Zoo, an aviary, a greenhouse, a herbarium, a museum and
several sports ground was built during the reign of Sawai Ram
Singh-II in 1868 as a famine relief project. This was designed
by Sir Swinton Jacob, as an example of beautiful India-Sarcenic
structure and opened in 1887 as a public museum. It contains a
fine collection of sculptures, paintings, decorative art
objects, natural history specimens, an Egyptian Mummy and a
celebrated Persian garden carpet. In the twilight, it looked even
more impressive with its subdued illumination.
